John 20:31 (CSB) – But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

Why This Verse for the Gospels?

"These are written" — speaks to the purpose of all four Gospel accounts: to record the life, works, and words of Jesus.

"So that you may believe" — emphasizes the response the Gospels are calling for: faith in Jesus.

"That Jesus is the Messiah" — reflects the Jewish expectation fulfilled (Matthew).

"The Son of God" — affirms His divine identity (John).

"And that by believing" — underscores the invitation to personal faith (Mark).
