December 14, 2025 - Jesus Is All - JOY
Joy is one of the most misunderstood words in the Christian life. Sometimes we confuse joy with happiness. Happiness is dependent on circumstances, seasons, or outcomes. But biblical joy runs far deeper. Joy is not the denial of pain; it is the presence of hope in the middle of it. The joy of Advent does not ignore hardship—it defies it.
When the angels announced Jesus’ birth, they declared “good news of great joy.” Not because life would instantly get easier—but because God had entered the story. Joy entered the world when Jesus did. Today, as we lit the candle of joy, we are reminded that joy is not something we manufacture. It is something we receive when we abide in Christ. Joy is not fragile. Joy is resilient. Joy is strength for weary souls. Joy has a name, and His name is Jesus.
